What's your fantasy game?
Whether you like it or not, GW is not perfect. I know for everyone out there, there is at least 1 "thing" you don't like about Guild Wars. You can lie and say it's perfect, but I know the truth!
My fantasy game would be:
-an MMORPG with a level cap of 100.
-It wouldn't be instanced and about 5X bigger than Tyria's map.
-There'd be skills, mainly got this idea from RuneScape. (lvl cap of 100)
-Tons and tons and tons of armor/weapon skins! (Yes, I'd wait an extra year just for the dev teams to create all the skins)
-Easier flow of money (Compared to that of GW)
-Instead of campaigns, it would be free downloads that come about every months.
-Huge scale 50 v 50 battles!
-A feature that alerts you when friends log on.
A turn-based first person shooter, or a card-based racing game, what's your fantasy game?

I'm pretty much right there with you but I think turn-based games are behind us (KotOR was a nice hybrid though). At 1.5 years old, the GW franchise has hit its limits in so many ways: flow of money and money cap, pve real estate, things to do, etc. Most of the 'new' content is just rehashed versions of the earlier ones, and I think we will be seeing more with the hard mode mission whatever it is.

That is World of Warcraft, no offense...
And using RuneScape as your reference point is not a good idea.

Sounds like a porn website. I'd recommend a name change.

Most of the features you are describing come from your typical MMO, which guild wars was designed to replace for those who did not want to spend the time that a typical MMO takes up.
I do agree tho that some of those features would be really cool to see implemented.

I doubt you will be able to. The name alone will get it classified as "Adult"

My fantasy game would be:
-Offline.
-And...that's pretty much it. We'll see where it goes from there.

I thought that this thread was going to be something different but I see it turned into/started out as a I WISH GW WAS _______(fill in game name here)
GW is a great game and yes it is not perfect.
My question is if you obviously prefer these other games to GW, WTF are you playing GW for???? And don't give me the crap that its free, if ya want something bad enough you find a way to get it...if not sit back, shut up and play GW for GW...or don't play at all.

well there can always be more armor, more customization and more explorable areas. but i tend to be pretty realistic about my wishes/getting my money's worth - and guildwars comes pretty close

My fantasy game will be the one that I can physically plug in to and have the ability to pay a company to put me "on ice" escaping this world.

I was actually thinking about this the other day.
(Just wondering what type of MMO I would develop if I won the Euro Millions)
It really is a bit of a hash of many online and offline RPG I have played.
1) Sci-fi setting
2) Map travel instantly from town to town (when found)
3) Partially instanced (like WoW)
4) Different races – at war
5) War is realm based - you can travel to other realms under a "flag of truce" or a "flag of war" (PvP settings)
6) Guilds and Alliances (ala GW)
7) Mixable classes (Warrior, scout, mental, ranged, medic). You can change your secondary class in town.
8) Crafting as a class rather than a skill – every player has a crafter who can craft all basic items plus 2 advanced item lines.
9) Crafts – Armour, Melee weapons, ranged Weapons, Medical, Mechanical item,
10) Player housing based in cities with access to Auction house and shared bank storage.
11) Skill based, skill can only be changed in town.
12) 10 skill, 7 from primary 3 from secondary
13) Attributes you can set yourself (strength, intelligence, agility etc.) not refundable (unlike GW)
14) Designable armour
a. You get a template for the armor
b. you get materials then combine them to create different and unique looking armour.
c. Armour to have 3 basic levels, Base (gives armour level and weight), Reinforce (adds to armour and weight), decorative (lace, paint etc)
d. Created armour look different depending on materials used (using same template)
e. Examples of armour:
i. Light: Wool/Heavy Stitching/lace
ii. Medium: Heavy Leather/fur/paint
iii. Heavy: Iron/Carbon Fiber/Pig skin
iv. Ultra Heavy: Steel/Rivits/human skulls
15) Armour can be updated with mechanical items, blades, memory sticks etc.
16) Armour would slow you down if you don’t have the stats to use it, i.e. Heavy armour would make you attack at ¼ speed compared to light armour, points in str would increase speed. So you could have a very fast attacking warrior in light armour if you wanted.
More to follow as I think of it.

Basically, all I need in a game is a huge area to explore, good plot, and a level cap high enough to satisfy my craving to advance, but not have any inherent effect on the game (In other words, you can play the game on low level if you have enough skill, you don't have to grind).
What am I talking about? I already have my ultimate fantasy game. It's called Ultima 7. It's getting a little old now, but thanks to the very kind people in charge of the Exult project, I can play on new systems! I've actually considered playing Ultima Online, but there's two things stopping me. 1) The monthly fee. 2) I can't imagine playing anything in the Ultima universe and not being the Avatar.
So, really, GW is great for something I do most of the time, since it has pretty high replayability value, very good storylines, graphics, all that, but Ultima 7 still is my favourite game ever. I just don't play it that often cause I don't wanna get sick of it.

TY for the responses, and the reason I play GW is because it fits most of my needs, whereas WoW does not.
Also, I don't see what's wrong with using RuneScape as my referance point.
